Message Actions

Each message in a conversation includes a set of actions that help you manage and interact with it more efficiently.

When you hover over a message, you will see quick action buttons for emoji reactions and replying in a thread, along with a three-dot menu for additional options.

From here, you can:

  • Edit the message, which opens the message editor

  • Move the message to another conversation

  • Copy a direct link to the selected message

  • Add a star to mark the message as a favorite

  • Mark the message as unread, which enables the red dot indicator for the conversation in the sidebar

  • Create a task from the message (covered in more detail below)

  • Remove the message

Replying to Messages in Threads

You can reply to a specific message in a thread to keep conversations organized and focused.

To do that:

  1. Hover over a message

  2. Click the Reply button or open the three-dot menu and select Reply in Thread

This opens the thread side panel, where you will see the original message along with all replies related to it.

From here, you can:

  • Write a reply using the message editor

  • Add internal notes if needed

Note: Scheduled messages are not available in threaded replies.

At the top right of the thread panel, you can:

  • Use the filter option to refine the displayed messages

  • Close the thread panel

Note

The filtering options in threads are separate from the main conversation filters.

Filtering for the main conversation will be covered later in this article.

Creating Tasks from Messages

You can create a task directly from a message in a conversation, making it easy to turn discussions into actionable items.

To do that:

  1. Hover over the message

  2. Open the three-dot menu

  3. Select Create Task

This will open the New Task modal. From here, you can:

  • Select the board where the task will be created

  • Enter a title for the new task

  • Edit the description (pre-filled with the original message)

The description editor supports full formatting, including:

  • Adding images

  • Formatting text

  • Inserting links

  • Using emojis

  • Creating lists

  • etc.

When you click Save:

  • The task is created and added to the selected board in the Doing column at the bottom

  • You will be redirected to the board view

  • The task will open automatically in a modal

Filtering Messages

You can filter messages in a conversation using the Filter button located at the top right of the conversation, left of the settings (gear) icon and the Share button.

This opens a filtering panel where you can narrow down messages based on different criteria.

Note

When filters are applied, the Filter icon will display a number, indicating how many filter options are currently active.

At any time, you can reset all applied filters to return to the default view by using the Reset option in the filter panel, which clears all selections at once.

Here are all the available options in the filter panel:

Search Messages

At the top of the filter panel, you will find the Search messages bar.

  1. Start typing to search for messages containing specific words

Note: You need to type the full word for the search to return results

  2. Press Enter to run the search

  3. Click the X icon to clear the search input
