How to Create and Embed Contact Forms

Create customizable contact forms, embed them on your website or in Kitchen, and automatically receive submissions as conversations in your workspace.

Written by Denitsa Zhelyazkova

Contact Forms let you collect inquiries, requests, and other information from visitors. Once submitted, responses are automatically delivered to your Kitchen workspace, making it easy to manage new leads and client communication in one place.

Creating a Contact Form

To create a new contact form:

  1. Go to Settings → Contact Forms.

  2. Click Create Form.

The form builder will open, allowing you to customize both the form and its submission page.

Form Details

You can customize the following:

  • Form title

  • Description

  • Form fields

  • Thank you message

  • Custom CSS styling

  • Live preview of the form and thank you page

Managing Form Fields

Every new form includes the required Name and Email fields by default.

To add another field, click Add field.

For each field you can configure:

  • Label

  • Field type

  • Required toggle

Available field types include:

  • Name

  • Email

  • Short text

  • Long text

  • Dropdown

Click Save to add the field to your form.

Tip: You can drag and drop form fields to reorder them at any time.

Additional Options

Below the field list you'll find the Enable CAPTCHA option which helps you protect your form from spam submissions.

Thank You Message

Customize the message displayed after a visitor submits the form.

The editor supports rich text formatting, including:

  • GIFs

  • Emojis

  • Bold

  • Italic

  • Links

  • Code

  • Lists

  • Quotes

  • Horizontal rule

  • Headings

Custom CSS

You can further customize the appearance of your contact form using your own CSS styles. Changes are applied instantly, so you can preview them as you edit.

Previewing the Form

On the right side of the page you'll find a live preview with two tabs:

  • Form page – displays the form visitors will complete.

  • Thank you page – shows the confirmation message after submission.

Note: The preview URL is public and can be copied and shared with anyone who should be able to complete the form.

Embedding the Form

There are two ways to use your contact form.

Embed it in Kitchen

Copy the public form URL from the preview and create an Embed resource using that URL.

This allows you to display the contact form directly inside your Kitchen workspace.

To learn more, see How to Create and Use Embeds.

Embed it on Your Website

Click Get embed code in the top-right corner.

Choose one of the available options:

  • Inline – displays the form directly within your webpage.

  • Modal – opens the form inside a popup modal.

Copy the generated code and paste it into your website where you'd like the form to appear.

Receiving Form Submissions

When someone submits your contact form:

  • A new Conversation is automatically created in your workspace containing the submitted information.

  • If the submitter doesn't already exist as a client, they'll automatically be added to your workspace without receiving an invitation email.

From the created conversation, you can continue working with the submission by:

  • Creating tasks

  • Moving the message to another conversation

  • Moving the entire conversation to another folder

  • Replying directly to the inquiry

Managing Contact Forms

The Contact Forms page displays all forms in your workspace.

For each form you'll see:

  • Title

  • Submissions

Click either column heading to sort the list in ascending or descending order.

Note: By default, contact forms are sorted by creation date, with the newest forms shown first.

Hover over any form to reveal additional actions:

  • Edit – opens the form builder where you can modify the form.

  • Remove – permanently deletes the contact form.
