How to Use Proposals

Learn how to create, view, share, and manage DocuMocu proposals in Kitchen.

Written by Denitsa Zhelyazkova

Proposals in Kitchen are powered by DocuMocu, our proposal, contract, and e-signature platform.

Proposals are created and managed in DocuMocu, then automatically published to your Kitchen workspace, where they can be shared, reviewed, and signed by clients.

This allows you to manage client communication and project resources in Kitchen while using DocuMocu's document creation and e-signature capabilities.

In this article, you'll learn how to access, review, share, and manage proposals in Kitchen.

To create and publish proposals in Kitchen, you'll first need to connect your DocuMocu account. For step-by-step instructions, see How to Connect Kitchen with DocuMocu.

Creating a Proposal and Sharing it in Kitchen

Once the integration is connected:

  1. Open a desired folder in Kitchen.

  2. Click Create.

  3. Select Proposal or Contract.

  4. Select the name and the access level

  5. Click Continue in DocuMocu

Kitchen will open DocuMocu, where you can create and customize the document.

If the folder is associated with a client, the client's information will automatically be populated in the proposal.

No additional setup is required.

Using Templates

You can create a proposal from scratch or use one of your existing DocuMocu templates to speed up the process.

You can then:

  • Edit the proposal name

  • Update the content

  • Add additional sections

  • Configure recipients and signing requirements

Publishing the Proposal

When the proposal is ready, you can:

  • Send it by email

  • Share it using a public link

  • Embed it elsewhere

If the proposal was created from Kitchen, it will automatically be published back to your Kitchen workspace as a resource inside the folder where it was created.

Clients can review and sign the proposal directly from Kitchen.

Embedding Proposal Links

In addition to publishing proposals directly to Kitchen, you can also embed a proposal signing link using an Embed resource.

Each signer in DocuMocu receives a unique signing link. If you would like a client to sign a proposal from within Kitchen, you can embed that client's signing link directly into your workspace.

Tip: If the proposal requires signatures from multiple recipients, you can first sign the proposal using your own signer link from DocuMocu and then embed the client's signer link in Kitchen, allowing them to review and sign the document directly from your workspace.

To do this:

  1. Open the proposal in DocuMocu.

  2. Click Send.

  3. Open the Embed tab.

  4. Click Generate.

  5. Copy the signing link for the client.

  6. Return to Kitchen.

  7. Create a new Embed resource.

  8. Paste the signing link into the URL field.

  9. Save the embed.

The proposal signing experience will now be available directly inside Kitchen.

Note: Each signing link is unique to a specific recipient. Make sure you use the link belonging to the client who is intended to sign the proposal.

Important: Anyone with access to the embed can use the signing link. If the embed is shared with additional users in Kitchen, they may be able to sign the proposal on behalf of the intended recipient. For this reason, we recommend sharing the embedded proposal only with the client who is expected to sign it.

Access and Permissions

Anyone who has access to the folder in Kitchen will be able to view the proposal.

However, proposal signing permissions are managed entirely within DocuMocu.

Only recipients configured in DocuMocu will be able to sign the document.
